I'm Walking on Sunshine

Its true, I have fallen in love and there is nothing anyone can do about it. I’ve fallen in love with this color! Ha, you thought I was lovin’ on someone? Nope. I’m still dedicated to all of you! I love mustard, not the condiment necessarily, but the color! After the other day's post, I really got to thinking about that color. Its appearing everywhere; with the leaves changing, the sunrise coming later in the mornings, and the hot dogs at the football games, I see it all the time (minus the football games, “what’s football?” ha.). But I have been especially seeing this particular color in this seasons trends. And I will admit I’m lovin’ me some mustard!

Not this:

But rather this:
These leading ladies of the silver screen wore these colors well at this year's Emmys. Claire Danes in Lanvin, Julie Bowen in Monique Lhuillier, Julianne Moore in Dior Haute Couture, Leslie Mann in Naeem Khan, and last but not least Kelly Cuoco in Angel Sanchez.

Want to be that shining star that catches every passerby’s eye? Try these incredibly unaffordable yet irresistible mustard colored finds!

Ok I didn’t realize the pattern of this skirt was pencils until I actually examined the details. Does liking this Mary Katrantzou “Pencil” skirt even more now that I know this make me crazy? Maybe, but I don’t care.

I love me some Prabal. Remember that one time, a few paragraphs ago, when I said I wasn’t in love with anyone? I lied. I love Prabal Gurung and this printed silk dress from his Fall/Winter 2012 collection.

I wear their perfume, I drool over their ads, I dream of wearing this dress. From Moschino Cheap and Chic this ruffled organza dress is tempting me to sell my soul and purchase it. If even for a day… (I would probably do it too).

Watch Mad Men? See yourself hanging on the arm of the one and only (ok not one and only since he stole his identity) Don Draper? I do. Jon Hamm is a hunk, we can all go ahead and just admit it. Erdem Morialoglu even admitted this season’s collection was a reference to the 50s/60s.

See Rebecca Minkoff and I have more than just a name in common; we share a love for mustard colored-spiked-chained-lizard shoulder bags. I’m sure plenty of you all have that same love. Right? Yes.

Now onto what us poor college kids can afford.

Leopard print? Check. Pleated knit scuba skirt? Check. Mustard color? CHECK CHECK CHECK. Forever21 has now officially made my mustard fetish (if I was talking about food that would be gross) feed-able. I don’t know if that’s correct, but what I do know is that this Colorblocked Leopard Panel Dress is lovely.

You can sport a bit of mustard while simultaneously looking like a bumblebee. Great Halloween costume idea? Yes.  Forever21’s Basic Striped Bodycon skirt.

You may be a bit chilly while wearing this embellished crop cami from Topshop so I suggest probably wearing pants. They’re your best bet at maintaining a warm temperature, while you’re at it why not throw on some shoes? Boots? I’ve just created an outfit for you. You’re welcome.

This skirt for some odd reason actually reminds me of a camel colored leather skirt my mother used to have. Pair this Amanda Goss for RISD + UO Wool Paneled Skirt from Urban Outfitters with some tights, or hell even as presented and you will be quite the looker!

Now I would like to end with these. I never really had the love for the Doctor. You know Dr. Marten… But I’ve been feeling super edgy and a little like Sid Vicious, not all doped up but rather more punk rock, and have been contemplating the purchase of these… Especially in this color from Journeys

Peace out hot dogs, and God save the Queen.
